Surprise! a 13th Zodiac Sign

Has this story been your water cooler topic of the day?
A 13th sign is being added to the Zodiac calendar to account for the Earth's shift over the last few thousand years.
Astronomer Park Kunkle says the signs you were born under are different now because a wobble on the planet's axis generated a one-month bump in star alignment.
Star gazers say "Earth is currently in a different spot in relation to the Sun, and its equatorial alignment has changed from 3,000 years ago when the study of astrology began -- back when 12 zodiac signs were assigned to 12 different periods of the year." (NBC 2 News)
Here's your real horoscope adjusted:
  • Capricorn: Jan. 20 - Feb. 16
  • Aquarius: Feb. 16 - March 11
  • Pisces: March 11- April 18
  • Aries: April 18- May 13
  • Taurus: May 13- June 21
  • Gemini: June 21- July 20
  • Cancer: July 20- Aug. 10
  • Leo: Aug. 10- Sept. 16
  • Virgo: Sept. 16- Oct. 30
  • Libra: Oct. 30- Nov. 23
  • Scorpio: Nov. 23- Nov. 29
  • Ophiuchus: Nov. 29- Dec. 17
  • Sagittarius: Dec. 17- Jan. 20

Enjoy. :-)

Total Lunar Eclipse

The Western Hemisphere has the best seat on the planet for the total lunar eclipse happening early Tuesday morning.
North and Central America, including Alaska and Hawaii, will have the best view as the sun, earth, and moon fall into alignment.  The earth takes center stage blocking the sun's light from its normal illumination of the moon.  However, light still filters and bends and should cast a hazy red glow on the normally silver moon.
The event will happen early Tuesday morning beginning at 2:41 a.m. and continue until 3:53 a.m.
About every to three to five years, most areas on Earth witness a total lunar eclipse.  Three will happen over the next 12 months.

Geminid: Sky's Alive Tonight

The Geminid Meteor shower blazes across the sky in the early hours of Tuesday, December 14, 2010.  Astronomers expect a spectacular light show with 100 sparking streaks per hour.
The shower lasts through December 16, but the most impressive display is between midnight and sunrise Tuesday morning in the Northern Hemisphere.
Stargazers should set their sights in the direction of Gemini or northeast.
